Latham-based BST & Co. CPAs has added a well-known marketing executive to its growing CMO for Hire division.
Nicole Stein, formerly of Broadview Federal Credit Union, recently joined the division with the title of outsourced chief marketing officer. The division is led by Susan Radzyminski, who joined BST in 2021 to help start the marketing business.
“So many things excited me about this opportunity,” said Stein, who specifically cited the chance to work alongside Radzyminski and with industries beyond financial services.
CMO for Hire provides branding and marketing services to companies that may not have such capabilities in-house. BST also has an outsourced accounting division, CFO for Hire, which has also grown in recent years.
“I think in some instances organizations think that they need a full-time person to do a particular role, and not every company needs a chief marketing officer,” said Stein. “Because of our years of experience, we can work faster than somebody who is newer to the field. That’s going to create efficiencies.”
In her previous role, senior vice president of field marketing and promotions, Stein helped guide branding efforts for Broadview, which was formed through the merger of the region’s then-largest credit unions, CAP COM and SEFCU. Before the merger, Stein held various marketing roles with SEFCU for more than a decade.
Before her roles in finance, Stein worked for the Albany-based marketing firm Media Logic. She lives in Albany.
Stein said the four-person CMO for Hire team aims to work with a variety of types of organizations, including architecture and engineering firms, trade associations and nonprofits.
“Outsourced strategic marketing services fulfill a crucial need in today’s business landscape, and the Capital Region market is primed for this solution due to talent shortages and, in many instances, financial constraints,” Radzyminski said in a statement. “Nicole’s extensive leadership experience in marketing and communications for financial institutions and agencies makes her the perfect addition to our CMO for Hire team."
